White Clam Pizza
INGREDIENTS
- 3/4 lb. pizza dough
- 1/2 cup chopped clams(use fresh cherry stones, discard bellies)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 pinches oregano
- 2 tblsp olive oil
- 2 cloves finely minced garlic
- Romano cheese
- Cooked bacon or parma prosciutto (optional)
- 1 slice lemon
DIRECTIONS
Insert Pizza Dome and cooking platform into oven at 500 degrees 30 minutes prior to baking the pizza.
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 can of tomatoes and 1/2 tbsp. of kosher salt and crush the tomatoes thoroughly.
In a mixing bowl combine olive oil salt garlic and lemon. Drain the clam and add them to the mixing bowl gently toss until combined. Let rest in fridge 15 minutes.
Place 14 inch round parchment paper on pizza peel.
Stretch the dough and place on parchment paper.
Sprinkle with fresh chopped oregano (if using dry oregano, be sure to use less) and grated romano cheese.
Insert into preheated oven. Average cook time 8 mins with the Pizza Dome.
